2027 New AAU Club Official Training

This is a requirement for new and first time club officials!

This training session is a requirement for new officials who want to officiate during the 2027 winter club season.

The training costs $25, which will be collected the day of the event.

Additional requirements for officiating at the AAU club level

• Pass an AAU background screen
• Register with the 3Step Sports payroll portal through Vensure, which includes:
  • Completing an IRS W9
  • Completing an Independent Contractors Agreement
• Attend and pass an in person rating event

Compensation and uniforms

• New officials start at $30 per match
• Officials wear white, cyan, or gray "Certified Volleyball" official polos
• Navy slacks
• White shoes and socks

A typical tournament day

• Matches are two sets to 25; best of three, with the first two sets to 25 and the third to 15; or occasionally three sets to 25 in a pool of three
• Expected arrival is 7:15 am
• Saturday play typically runs from 8 am until 6 or 7 pm, and Sunday play from 8 am until 4 or 5 pm
• Expect to work 7 or 8 matches on a Saturday and 5 or 6 matches on a Sunday
